This is going to be a long story, so settle down with a cup of tea. There have been several versions of MayMorning you see. The first one was maymorning.nu which I bought in 2008 from a hosting company (that I won't name as it was so bad!). That hosting company and I parted company, but because of the rules governing .nu domains at the time, I could not transfer my domain between registrars. So I had to give maymorning.nu up.

Instead, I bought the .co.uk version, may-morning.co.uk, after that nameless company refunded the money I had paid them to renew the .nu. (sigh) I actually emailed the people who had rushed in to register the .nu, and as it was still in a grace period, they saw the sense in not holding onto a domain that no one had ever wanted, except me. And I refused to pay them more than the basic cost of a .nu anyway. They kindly allowed me to buy back again!

However, after several years I gave it up as the price for .nu domains was rather high. I had let the .co.uk version drop (someone else had the one word domain in .co.uk) so I bought may-morning.com from NameCheap on may 31 2022, forgetting that I had also bought maymorning.uk on july 17 2019. Ach a vey, so many may mornings!

And the story has not ended yet. I found that .nu domains were cheaper at a different registrar. And so I bought maymorning.nu again, no one else having bagged it in the meantime.

Maymorning.nu was bought on december 4 2023 from Stablehost. It is hosted by Hostmantis, via my reseller Proriaeth.

As you can tell, I'm rather attached to maymorning! It was inspired by a song by Runrig, "May Morning", which is such an upbeat song that never fails to cheer me up when I'm feeling low.
